Annual Wreath Laying Ceremony at NOIDA Shaheed Smarak

NOIDA Shaheed Smarak Sanstha organized the Annual Wreath Laying Ceremony at Shaheed Smarak on 19 Feb 2021.  Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC, Chief of the Air Staff was the Chief Guest.  COS Delhi Area, Maj Gen PR Murali, ADG Arty (B), Chairperson Schools AWWA, Retired Officers residing in NOIDA attended the function.  The school was represented by the Principal, one teacher and two students (Kanwar Rudransh Singh, class XII and Khush Sharma, class XI) for wreath laying.  The Chief Guest released the Annual magazine of Noida Shaheed Smarak after the ceremony.

National Road Safety Month Celebration

National Road Safety Month was celebrated in the school from 26.01.21 to 19.02.21. In order to sensitize the students about road rules and safety, a series of activities Hindi essay writing competition, speech competition, Skit Presentation, Rangoli Making competition were planned.

Chauri Chaura Centenary Celebrations

The Chauri Chaura centenary celebrations were inaugurated in NOIDA on 4th February 2021. The Shatabdi Samaroh was held at Army Public School, NOIDA. The event was graced by Dr Mahesh Sharma (MP from BJP), Mr Pankaj Singh (MLA of NOIDA), Shri Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj (DM – GB Nagar), Mr.Rajesh  S (DCP), Mr Anil Kumar Singh (CDO), Mr Dharamveer Singh (DIOS) and and Lt. Gen (Rtd)  S K Singh  PVSMUYSMAVSM. The event was also attended by students and teachers from government schools and inter-colleges of District Gautam Budh Nagar.  The centenary celebrations were inaugurated by paying homage to Martyrs of Indian Armed forces.  Col Singh and Mrs Naqwi (Next of Kin of martyrs of Indian Army) were honoured. The supreme sacrifice of our brave soldiers was remembered. The program included the rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ and many other patriotic songs by students from different schools. All the eminent dignitaries motivated and inspired the students with their encouraging words. A documentary on the Chauri Chaura incident was showcased to enthuse patriotism amongst everyone. At the end, the address of the Honourable Prime Minister was telecast live.

Republic Day Celebrations and Felicitation Ceremony

Army Public School NOIDA celebrated the 72nd  Republic Day through an online programme which was imbued with the spirit and colours of patriotism. The Principal,       Mrs. Jyoti Rana unfurled the tricolor and the young students sang the national anthem with gusto. In her address, the Principal highlighted the significance of the day as well as the laurels and awards won by the school. The students defied the pandemic as they danced to different tunes of patriotism, sang patriotic songs and even wore tricoloured clothes to mark the occasion. The outstanding academic and co-curricular achievers of the session 2019-20 were felicitated on this occasion. Cash prizes were awarded to the meritorious achievers in academics of class XII Board Examination of the session 2019-20. The overall Best House Trophy was bagged by Pawan House. The event was attended by staff, students, parents as well as alumni of the school. The program concluded with the message to create a great nation through the collaborative efforts of every individual.

Raising Day-2020

 Army Public School, Noida celebrated its 26th Raising Day on 01 Sep 2020.  Even though students were not present in school, the day was commemorated by releasing a movie based on the 25 years journey of the school from 1995 till date. The movie, titled ‘Army Public School, Noida –  A Journey of Smiles’, was a walk down the memory lane for all as there were many archival photographs from the day of inception. The viewers got glimpses of important visits, events, achievements of the school in it. There were also messages by the alumni, former Principals as well as the present Principal,     Mrs Jyoti Rana. It was a movie prepared by the school teachers and was shared with the parents, management and all other stakeholders of the school. Besides this, the Day was commemorated in the classrooms by conducting message writing and art activities for conveying Raising Day greetings to the beloved school.   Appreciation DO and cash award on behalf of the Chairman to the following toppers of Class XII and X CBSE board exams for the academic session 2019-20 was handed over:-

74th Independence Day Celebration  

India’s 74th Independence Day was celebrated by Army Public School Noida online.  The audience of celebration included parents, grandparents, students and staff.  The impressive audience joined in the on-line unfurling of the tri-colour by the Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Rana and a spirited rendition of the National Anthem by the school choir. The event was a glorious culmination to a fortnight of celebrations which were heralded on Kargil Diwas. Starting on 26th July 2020, the School organized a variety of competitions on the theme which was aptly titled “Colours of Freedom”. Students engaged enthusiastically on virtual platforms in events ranging from painting and poster making to oratory and panel discussions. They expressed their solidarity with the armed forces by penning messages for the soldiers, saluting their valour and sacrifices.  On 15th August, the winners were felicitated amidst a colourful programme of songs and artistically choreographed dances, imbued with the spirit of patriotism. The Principal in her message to the students emphasized that it was their right to dream big. She appreciated the Management for their unstinting support and complimented the staff for exemplifying the spirit of unity by connecting with everyone, in spite of the challenges.

School Silver Jubilee Celebration and Conduct of APS Virtual MUN Competition

The Army Public School, Noida hosted it’s maiden edition of a Model United Nations Conference   on 11th & 12th August, 2020 on a virtual platform with an aim to make the best out of the lockdown when the world is in the grip of a pandemic by facilitating gifted minds. The MUN was a great success with participation of almost 100 students from India and beyond. The conference had five committees ranging from formal UN committees – United Nations General Assembly and United Nations Human Rights Council to Indian committees- All India Political Parties Meet and National Security Council, to a committee on the International Press. The motto of the conference was ‘Breaking barriers to inspire change’ which was reflected in the debates taking place in these committees, chaired by exceptionally experienced Executive Board members.  The first day of the conference, on 11th August, started with an opening ceremony. The Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Rana, presided the ceremony with her opening remarks that highlighted the motto of the conference and paved way for the successful conduction of the MUN conference with her inspirational speech. All delegates in each committee deliberated on real world issues while representing various nations and portfolios. All committees were filled with stimulating debate and providing students with a platform to express themselves.  On the second day of the conference, 12th August, 2020, delegates resumed their debates with an intention to arrive at a unanimous decision regarding the issue at hand. The closing ceremony at the end of the second day celebrated the participation of all students and congratulated the prize winners of each committee out of which some were also awarded cash prizes worth 1000 rupees.


International Yoga Day Celebration  

APS NOIDA celebrated International Yoga day on 21st June 2020. It was a live session organized by the school for the staff, students, parents and grandparents. The Principal inaugurated the session and welcomed the participants along with Yoga Guru, Shri Arun Kumar, who conducted the online session. The session commenced with a prayer. The yoga instructor demonstrated various sitting and standing asanas along with breathing exercises. All participants performed the various asanas with zeal as the importance of the same was explained to them simultaneously along with the precautionary measures that need to be taken. The staff members and students observed this fitness day by performing the various exercises with a lot of exuberance. The high point of the session was the active participation of the parent fraternity. In all, a gathering of over 500 participated enthusiastically in this live session. We believe that regular practice of yoga will help imbibe the value of discipline in the students and help them live a better life- physically, mentally and spiritually. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks presented by the Vice Principal.

Annual Day Celebration

Army Public School Noida organized its 24th Annual Day Celebration Ceremony with a spectacular field display which replicated Navika Sagar Parikrama, the maiden voyage of indigenously built INSV Tarini on 08th Feb 2020.  The Chief Guest for the occasion was Lt. Gen. Shri Krishna Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM (Retd), Executive Director Noida Shaheed Smarak Sanstha and Brig A. Ragesh, Cdr 261 Arty Bde, Chairman, APS, NOIDA was the Guest of Honour. The Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Rana welcomed the guests and presented the school’s annual report taking the audience through the achievements of the session 2019-20. Brig A Ragesh, Chairman, APS Noida, gave away the prizes to the deserving students who excelled in academics and Mrs. Mini Ragesh felicitated the achievers in co-curricular activities. The Chief Guest presented the House trophies.  The students presented a vibrant cultural programme titled ‘A Vanguard Odyssey’ which brought to life the historic landmark voyage made by six daring and enterprising women naval officers who circumnavigated the globe. The 254 days long voyage was flagged off on 10th September 2017 and sailed through Australia, Korea, Falkland Island and South Africa before returning victorious to Goa. The call at each of these four ports was depicted through a colourful glimpse of the unique and indigenous culture of the respective countries. Overcoming the turbulent waters of the seven seas, this spellbinding tale of grit and exemplary courage unfolded as a tribute to Women Empowerment and the Make in India Initiative.

Delhi Area Inter APSs Quiz Competition

The quiz competition was conducted at this school on 22 Jan 2020.  One team each from all four APSs participated in the quiz competition.  Quizmaster Akshay Aggarwal from NATS (Northern Academy of Training and Skill Development) conducted the competition.  APS Shankar Vihar team won the competition.  The winner team was awarded a trophy and certificate of participation were given to all the participants.

Mathematics Week

Mathematics Department of APS Noida celebrated the Mathematics Week in the month of December 2019.

In Primary Wing few activities like Mathamatical facts, Scenery with Geometrical Shapes, Nukkad Natak, Tips with quick calculation, Counting Triangles, Calculating age were conducted  to celebrate `Paridhi – Maths Week’.

In Senior Wing few activities like Mathematical Rangoli Making, Problem Solving, Carnival (Mathematical Games), Mathematical Puppet Making, Mathematical Quiz, Carnival for students and parents were conducted.

In the maths carnival, students created mathematical games and set up stalls for parents to try their mathematical skills. Stalls were also put up to display the childrens artistic inclination at making puppets, mathematical rangolis among other craft items. The money collected from the stalls will be donated for a charitable cause.

Farewell Function of Class XII Students

APS NOIDA bid a solemn and emotional farewell to the class XII batch of 2019-20 on 28th Dec 2019. Lt Gen ML Naidu, PVSM, AVSM, YSM and grandfather of Kuhu Naidu, class XII student was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Dr Bhawna Mishra and Col Pravir Mishra, parent representatives and Brig A Ragesh, Cdr 261 Arty Bde & Chairman APS Noida graced the momentous occasion. Lt Col Sandeep Chopra (batch of 2001) and Ms Tanvi Hooda, of the IAS Cadre (Batch of 2002), both alumni of the school were among the eminent guests. Also present were the parents of the young students standing poised on the threshold of a new beginning. The Principal, Mrs Jyoti Rana advised the students to always be cautious about the footprints they leave on the sands of time. The citation ceremony was interspersed with words of wisdom from the eminent guests as well as from the senior members of the teaching faculty. As they prepared to step out into the world, the students were presented mementoes and lighted candles which were symbolic of the light they will spread. The Vice Principal, Mrs. Rama Srinivasan presented the vote of thanks and wished the outgoing batch good luck on behalf of the entire school fraternity.

NOIDA Shaheed Smarak Sanstha conduted Vijay Diwas Ceremony 2020 at NOIDA Shaheed Smarak on 21 Dec 2020.  Lt Gen SK Saini, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, VCOAS and AVM S Nathak, VSM were the Chief Guests.

The 19th Annual Wreath Laying Ceremony was organized at the Noida Shaheed Smarak on Saturday, 22nd February. The Chief Guest, Admiral Karambir Singh PVSM AVSM , ADC Chief of the Naval Staff graced the ceremony and paid homage to the brave martyrs by laying a wreath.  He was followed by Maj Gen V K Mishra, AVSM GOC Delhi Area,  Maj Gen S S Suhag, ADG EME (A), Army HQ and Air Vice Marshal, Vikram Singh, VSM, ACAS (PLANS), AIR HQ . Wreaths were also laid by next of kin of the valiant martyrs, followed by civil dignitaries, IAS and IPS officers, defence personnel and veterans, Heads of Arun Vihar and Jalvayu Vihar institutions, Principal and student representatives of Army Public School Noida and Cambridge School.   The Chief Guest was received by the Chairman of Shaheed Smarak Sanstha, Lt. Gen. GL Bakshi, PVSM (Retd) and Executive Director, Lt. Gen. SK Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM (Retd).  The Students of Army Public School, Noida presented patriotic songs that were well appreciated by one and all. Admiral Karambir Singh PVSM AVSM , ADC Chief of the Naval Staff interacted and congratulated the students and the Principal, Mrs Jyoti  Rana, for all their efforts. He also interacted with the veterans and next of kin of the martyrs, assuring them that the sacrifices made by their loved ones, for our nation, will never be forgotten. The Chief Guest released the Annual magazine of Noida Shaheed Smarak. In his address, he praised the committee looking after the Shaheed Smarak and thanked the Principal of Army Public School, Noida for being a strong pillar of the society and for hosting the veterans and the guests as always. He highly appreciated the school choir and student volunteers of APS, Noida and distributed gifts to them.

NOIDA Shaheed Smarak Sanstha organized the Vijay Diwas ceremony at NOIDA Shaheed Smarak on Saturday, 18th Dec 2019.The Chief Guest was Air Marshal HS Arora, AVSM, ADC, Vice Chief of the Air Staff who paid homage followed by Maj Gen Rajpal Punia,YSM, COS, HQ Delhi Area,Maj Gen SP Goswami, VSM, ADG,AAD, Rear Admiral Sanjay Mishra, VSM, DGNAI. Homage was then paid by next of kin of 38 gallant martyrs, civil dignitaries, IAS and IPS officers, defence personnel, veterans, Mrs Jyoti Rana, Principal APS Noida and students of APS. Col IP Singh, Chairman, AVI & AVCC. Brig Shashi Vaid, Chairman AVRWA, Gp Captain V Dayal, President JVCC and other citizens of Gautam Budh Nagar. The Wreath laying ceremony was followed by patriotic songs sung by the Army Public School NOIDA Choir Group. The choir of Army Public School Noida gave a scintillating performance, which was applauded by everyone. Air Marshal HS Arora, AVSM, ADC, Vice Chief of the Air Staff appreciated the performance and involvement of students. Mrs Baljeet Arora, Vice President AFWWA, the wife of the chief guest distributed gifts to the students participated. School premises were the venue for the release of the Sanstha souvenir, tea arrangements and for signing of the visitor’s book.

Capt Vijayant Thapar Memorial Inter School Football Tournament 2019

The tournament was conducted from 31st Oct to 13th Nov 2019.The 12 teams from prestigious schools of Delhi & NCR participated. The final tournament was played between APS NOIDA and Vidya Gyan School, Bulandshahr on 13th Nov 2019. APS NOIDA team won the tournament by 02-00 goals. The second runners up position was bagged by Army Public School, Shankar Vihar. The Chief Guest, Brig Ravindra Pratap Singh, Commandant Rajputana Rifles Centre, graced the occasion. The guests of honour were Brigadier A Ragesh, Commander, 261 Arty Brigade and Chairman APS, NOIDA, Mrs. & Col. V.N. Thapar, parents of Capt. Vijyant Thapar, VrC and Mr. Vinay Sharma, Vice President of Football Association of Distt. Gautam Budh Nagar. The Chief Guest, Brig. Ravindra Pratap Singh along with the Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Rana gave away the trophies to the winning team, Army Public School, Noida. The Chairman, APS, NOIDA, graciously gave away the trophies to the first runners up team, Vidya Gyan School, Bulandshahr. Mrs. & Col. V.N. Thapar gave away the trophies to the second runners up team, Army Public School, Shankar Vihar. The award for The Highest Scorer was won by Shourya Rana of Army Public School, Noida who scored 06 goals in the tournament. Harissh Bhat of Army Public School, Noida was honoured with The Best Goal Keeper Award. Sumit Kumar of Vidya Gyan School, Bulandshahr was declared `The Best Player of the Tournament’. The Chief Guest addressed the gathering and motivated the students to stay aligned with Fit India Movement and excel in all spheres of their life.

National Unity Day and Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s Birth Anniversary on 31st Oct 2019

Various events awakened the students to the contribution of Sardar Vallahbhai Patel to India’s integration. Celebrating days like National Unity day make students conscious about their heritage. The various activities like ‘Chain of happiness’, Prabhat Pheri’, Run for Unity’, Fight against Corruption’, ‘Slogan Writing’, ‘Essay Writing’, Intra-Class Debate’were undertaken by the school on this occasion.The morning assembly included a talk on the Iron Man of India and his dynamic leadership in integrating 565 principalities into India. This was followed by a pledge taken by the students when we pledged to be vigilant and ensure unity and integrity of our country.

AWES National Hindi Debate Competition 2019 was conducted by APS NOIDA on 01 Nov 2019. One team each from six Commands participated in the competition. Lt Gen Tarun Kumar Chawla, AVSM, DG Fin Plg, Army HQ was chief guest for the occasion. Maj Gen RK Raina, SM PhD (Retd), MD AWES was also present during the competition. Topic for the debate was “आर्थिक बाध्यता और सीमित संसाधनो से परे भारतीय अंतरिक्ष कार्यक्रम राष्ट्र और राष्ट्रहित में हैं इसलिये इसे आगे बढ़ाया जाना चाहिए |”

Tree plantation programme was held at Army Public School, Noida on 24th July 2019.  Five fruit trees saplings were planted by the students of class X. Each section planted a tree and pledged to take care of the plant.  Mrs Jyoti Rana, Principal APS Noida, teachers and students planted the tree saplings at school premises.

‘Save the River Yamuna’ campaign was organized at APS Noida on 20th July 2019 under the aegis of the Namami Gange Mission. The chief guest for the event was Shri Gopal Krishna Agarwal, a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI), an Economic thinker and prolific writer as well as the National Spokesperson on Economic Affairs for Bharatiya Janata Party. Shri Sushil Chandra Tripathi, former Secretary of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and chief patron of  the Institute of Applied Systems and Rural Development, Shri Subhash Chand Agarwal, CMD  SMC  Global Security Ltd and President IASRD and  Dr K D Gupta, Chairperson IASRD were some of the  eminent dignitaries present on the occasion. The Principal welcomed the guests and assured them of the School’s commitment towards safeguarding the rivers as well as the environment. The guests shared their vision and inspired the students to work for protecting our water bodies and specifically the river Yamuna. All members of the audience were enjoined to pledge their allegiance to this noble cause. The students put up an enactment based on the life of Dr. Rajender Singh, the river maker of Rajasthan and a soulful ballet titled ‘Srijan’ as a tribute to the life sustaining rivers. The guests presented five saplings to the school, which were received by our green ambassadors.


Inauguration of ATL Lab

Mrs. Mini Ragesh, Sr Dir FWO and wife of Chairman APS NOIDA inaugurated the ATL Lab established in the school with the financial grant received from NITI Aayog on 29 Apr 2019.  The students took Mrs. Ragesh and the Chairman around and explained the different activities that the students can tinker with.

English Literary Week was conducted.The aim was to enhance the learners reading, writing, speaking and listening skills of English language and to enhance the vocabulary and language skills of students through an array of innovative events. It created immense enthusiasm among the students and they were motivated to exhibit their literary talent with confidence. A book fair was also organized during the literary week by Scholastics India Pvt Ltd and it was a special attraction for the students who got a chance of comparing books written by various reputed writers and buying books of their choice.  To sum up, a panorama of interesting knowledgeable activities was the highlight of the English Week. The competitions and activities not only facilitated participation of maximum number of students but also effective learning.

Farewell Ceremony of Chairman

The Farewell Ceremony of Brig. G. Srinivas Commander 261 Arty Brigade and Chairman APS Noida was conducted on 26th December 2018. It commenced at 10.00 a.m. and was conducted in the School Auditorium. The school choir initiated the ceremony by leading the school in meditation through a beautiful prayer song invoking God’s blessings. This was followed by a choreographic tribute to the Almighty. Principal ma’am addressed the school emphasising on the accomplishments of our school under the able guidance of our Chairman. Subsequently the Head Prefect thanked our dear Chairman for his mentorship and unflinching support. The tiny tots of Primary wing presented an action song bringing in cheer and joy to the occasion. The hostel prefect also rendered a speech portraying the gratitude that the hostellers feel towards the Chairman for his steadfast support. This was followed by the presentation of a token of affection to our Chairman and Ma’am Vaishno.  An inspirational Farewell Address was given by Brig. G. Srinivas. The program concluded with vote of thanks given by Vice Principal Ma’am.

Independence Day Celebration  

72nd Independence Day celebrated in this school with fervor.  The Principal hoisted the National Flag at 08.30 AM.  Students and staff residing in adjoining sectors of the school and hostellers attended the function.

Investiture Ceremony

Army Public School, Noida, conducted the Investiture Ceremony for its Student Council (session 2019-20), on the 4th of May 2019. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Brig A.Ragesh, Cdr 261 Arty Bde and Chairman, Army Public School, Noida, and his wife, Mrs. Mini Ragesh. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Lt.Gen (Retd) N.K.Kapur, PVSM, AVSM and Mrs.Seema Kapur and Maj.Gen.(Retd) Ajay Lal as the Guests of Honour. Also invited for the event, were the parents of the newly designated prefects. The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest. The school Principal, Mrs. Jyoti Rana, then, congratulated all the student council members and urged them to be frontline leaders, leading their troops with honour and vision. The beliefs of various leaders like Martin Luther King, Julius Caesar among others, was reinforced through a spectacular skit on the theme, ‘Leader: A Follower First’. Followed by ‘Jeete Hae Chal’, a contemporary dance.  Mrs.Mini Ragesh conferred the badges to the student council of the Primary Wing, Brig A Ragesh presented the badges to the senior wing and administered the oath of office to the entire student council 2019 – 20. In his subsequent address to the gathering, he spoke about the significance of education and the role it plays in team building, inspiring the young leaders to make the right decisions and bring happiness to the lives of those they serve and become role models for their peers and juniors. The junior wing prefects, put up an energetic, motivating dance titled ‘I Arise’ followed by the Head Prefect, Vidisha Raj, addressing the house, with promises of new beginnings. The Vice Principal, Mrs Rama Srinivasan thanked everyone for gracing the occasion.
