On 03 May 2024, a Career
Guidance Programme was organized by the Institute of Company Secretaries of
India (ICSI) for students of classes XI-XII in the school auditorium. The ICSI,
a statutory body established under The Company Secretaries Act, 1980, regulates
and develops the profession of Company Secretaries in India. It operates under
the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, with its headquarters in New Delhi and four
Regional Offices and 72 Chapters across the country.
During the workshop, students
were informed about the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) and
its eligibility criteria. Students from any stream with a minimum of 50% marks
are eligible for direct registration in the CS Executive Program. The career as
a Company Secretary was described as both intellectually stimulating and highly
responsible, offering significant potential for career growth and influence. It
is an ideal choice for individuals interested in corporate governance, legal
compliance, and advisory roles within organizations.
Information brochures were
distributed to assist students and their families in making informed decisions
about their career paths. The programme, lasting one hour, provided valuable
insights and was highly beneficial for the students.
