Ø Covering the roots with
soil and gently pressing it down.
Ø Watering the newly planted
saplings.
Students from classes I-XII were
divided into groups and each group was assigned a specific area and a different
species of tree to plant. In total, 40 saplings were
planted throughout the school premises. A variety of plants were selected,
including Ficus, Jamun, Jasmine and Murraya.
The drive culminated on 25 July 2024
with a special event where Mrs Ritu Chaudhary, Botanist, and member of local
community along with Col IP Singh, President AVRWA, Col Pathania and other members
of AVRWA visited the school for tree plantation.
The tree plantation drive was a
significant step towards making the school environment greener and raising
awareness about environmental conservation. The active participation and
enthusiasm of the students made the event memorable and impactful.
Chemistry Projects:
Ø Modes of Bonding: Students showcased detailed models explaining different types of chemical bondings such as ionic, covalent, and metallic bonds.
Ø Valence Shell Electron Pair Repulsion (VSEPR) Theory: Models
demonstrating the VSEPR theory to predict the shapes of molecules based on the
repulsion between electron pairs.
Ø Physics Experiments: Showcasing
principles of motion, electricity, and magnetism through engaging activities.
Ø Biology Projects: Presentations on
interesting biological phenomena and live demonstrations of biological
experiments.
In the final session of the day, the students designed and
constructed model bridges using various materials. This activity encouraged
creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. After the construction phase,
the bridges were subjected to various stress testing processes such as
weight-bearing and durability tests to evaluate their strength and stability. This
hands-on activity was not only educational but awe-inspiring for the students.
The Bagless Day was a testament to the school's commitment to
innovative and experiential learning.
Leaf Impression Art: In this
activity the students were engaged in the fascinating world of nature. They
meticulously captured the intricate details of leaves, transforming them into
beautiful and unique creations.
Tree Plantation Drive: To cultivate
a greener future, the students actively participated in a tree plantation
drive.
Purifiers
of the Planet - Herbarium for a Healthier Planet: In this activity, the students of class IX took up a challenging yet
rewarding project of preparing herbarium sheets of plants known for their water
and air purifying components. It provided them with an understanding
of plant anatomy, classification, and their crucial role in maintaining
ecological balance.
