Student Leadership

Home >Student Leadership

"Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Students at ARMY PUBLIC SCHOOL NOIDA are encouraged from a young age to take the ‘road less travelled’. Their leadership qualities are nurtured through participation in varied activities at class, house, inter school levelsand through student prefect ship. For us at APS NOIDA, student leadership means that our students take active roles in their education and develop positive skills in the process. The endeavour through the leadership program is to help the learners develop the critical 21st century skills.

Our prefectorial board is a representative group of students from senior and primary wings, who get an opportunity to propose their candidature and then get selectedto exemplify the student community at school. The prefectorial board plans and initiates activities involving the whole school.

This exercise provides students with opportunities not only to use their managerial and organizational skills, but more importantly also to learn vital lessons in teamwork and responsibility.

The Prefectorial Board consists of:

  • Head Boy and/or Head Girl
  • SchoolPrefects –Sports, Academics, Cultural, Discipline, Competitions, Excursions, Publications, Hostel, Environment and Community.
  • House Captains and HouseVice Captains

For us, the goal of inspiring student leaders is to create a culture of ownership, collaboration, flexibility and community at the school level while preparing the students for higher education and for achieving personal and professional excellence in life.

Our school leadership program framework is based on:

  • Proactive Leadership
  • Team culture
  • Self-Discipline and self-reflection
  • Communication& Collaboration
  • Problem-solving and decision-making
  • Conflict resolution
  • Understanding and managing change
  • Student empowerment

HOUSE SYSTEM

APS NOIDA follows the traditional House System. There are five Houses. The five houses are named after the five life supporting elements of the universe viz. Agni, Akash, Prithvi, Pawan and Sagar. The House System is an integral part of the school system. Not only does it aim to give students an identity but also inculcates a sense of pride and belonging

Each House serves as a platform for the holistic development of students. It provides the students with ample opportunities to exhibit their skill in various activities while promoting team spirit, house loyalty and healthy competition.

Inter-House competitions/activities are held throughout the year for the coveted Best House trophies in the arenas of Academics, Sports, Co-curricular Activities and for the Overall Best House.
