Workshop on Cyber Security and Hygiene

A workshop on Cyber Security and Hygiene was conducted at Army Public School, NOIDA, on 30 September 2024, for students of classes IX-XII, aimed at raising awareness about cyber security. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Rakshit Tandon, a renowned Cyber Security Evangelist, National Cyber Security Expert and Crime Investigator specializing in Cyber Forensics and Ethical Hacking for various law enforcement agencies in India.

During the session, Dr. Tandon shed light on the darker aspects of social media, emphasizing the serious consequences of hacking, excessive mobile phone usage and gaming addiction. He underscored the importance of maintaining a balance between online and offline life, urging students to mentally detox after engaging with digital content. Dr. Tandon also discussed the lasting impact of digital footprints, which can adversely affect one’s reputation and future opportunities. He distinguished between freedom of speech and freedom of abuse, highlighting the necessity of exercising online responsibilities. He warned students about the risks of bank theft through OTP sharing with unknown callers, individuals, or links, stressing the importance of vigilance when sharing sensitive financial information.

The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, during which students asked thoughtful questions related to cyber security and hygiene. Dr. Tandon provided insightful responses, addressing their concerns and sharing real-life examples to reinforce key points discussed during the session.
