As part of the inclusive education
initiative, Indian Sign Language (ISL) sessions are being conducted in the
primary wing by Special Educator Ms. Kritika Dogra. These sessions introduce
students to basic ISL gestures, promoting awareness, sensitivity and effective
communication.
Students are learning the ISL alphabet,
signing their names, common greetings, essential expressions and basic
conversational gestures. The sessions have received a positive response, with
students demonstrating enthusiasm and quickly applying their learnings in daily
interactions.
Their active participation underscores the
significance of sign language in fostering an inclusive environment. Given the
success of these sessions, the school plans to organize further workshops to
enhance students' ISL proficiency.
