A special assembly was conducted by the
students of class XI on the eve of
Diwali holidays on October 21st 2022. The venue for the
assembly was the school auditorium and it was attended by the students and
teachers of the senior wing and Principal and Vice Principal ma’am. The theme
of the assembly was the victory of good over evil. The programme began with the
auspicious hymn ‘Tu Ram Tu Rahim Hai’ highlighting the importance of
celebrating the festival of light with all religious communities. Further, the
students presented Thought of the Day and News on topical issues as well as
school news for the month of October. Following which there was a talk on the
theme drawing upon instances from History, Literature, Popular Culture and
Politics. The talk nudged the students to think about the duality of good and
evil in our lives and explored ways to make judicious choices. Next, there was
an enactment on Rabindranath Tagore’s poem ‘Strike My Lord’ in which three
dancers enacted the poem as it was recited live by three orators. It was
followed by a foot tapping performance of the class XI band who sang the iconic
number ‘Imagine’ for a world of peace and harmony. Following the cultural show,
Special Achievers of various inter-school events were felicitated by the Principal,
Mrs. Jyoti Rana, who also addressed the house to appreciate the achievers as
well as the talented students of class XI for putting up a thought provoking
assembly. Finally, she extended festival greetings to students and members of
the faculty. The assembly closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
