On
July 21, Army Public School, Noida welcomed back one of their illustrious
alumni, Ms. Anjum Rosha, who currently serves as a Senior Counsel at the
International Monetary Fund based in Washington D.C. A proud alumna from the
2001 batch, she interacted with the students of classes IX-XII on her journey
from school to the global financial arena.
Anjum, who
successfully completed her LLB from National Law University, Bengaluru, and
further pursued LLM from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, shared
insights into her academic journey and professional life. She emphasized the
importance of dedication, hard work, and resilience in achieving academic goals
and professional success.
Our alumna was
welcomed by Student Prefect, Yashvardhan Sinha who read out her impressive CV
to the audience. She was extended a green welcome by the Head Prefect, Karan
Tiwari and principal, Mrs Jyoti Rana. She was presented a copy of the school
magazine, Imprint, and the student anthology,
Seven ‘teen’ Tales, by the editorial
boards and the student-authors of the school.
Anjum shared
experiences from her tenure at the IMF, and how being a Senior Counsel in a
world-renowned institution helped shape her professional perspectives. She
expressed how her legal education armed her with the necessary skills to
navigate through complex international financial laws and economic policies.
The students,
full of curiosity, asked a series of questions about studying law and the
opportunities and challenges in the field. Anjum highlighted the dynamic nature
of law and the critical role it plays in every aspect of life. She also
discussed the importance of having a diverse skill set in today's globalized
world. Proficiency in multiple languages, understanding of different cultures,
and a broad perspective on global issues are some aspects that she emphasized
on, citing their importance in her own career.
In the
concluding part of the session, Anjum advised the students to remain focused,
be open to learning new things, and to make the most out of every opportunity
that comes their way. She encouraged the students to pursue their interests
wholeheartedly and to strive for excellence in their chosen fields.
This
enlightening session ended with a round of applause for Anjum Rosha, as the
students expressed their gratitude for her invaluable advice and insights.
Following this, four members of the Students Council – Karan Tiwari (Head
prefect), Prathana Vaid (Prefect Publication), Harsh Saxena (Prefect Academics)
and Paridhi Singhal (House Captain) interviewed Anjum for the school magazine
about her personal and professional journey so far.
The interaction
was not only a source of inspiration for the students but also provided them
with a real-world perspective of the legal profession and the global financial
landscape. The students came away with newfound motivation and a clearer
understanding of their potential paths ahead.
