Army Public School,
NOIDA observed the 41st AWES Day on April 29, 2024,
marking the establishment of an institution dedicated to delivering superior education
to the dependents of army personnel. Established in 1983, the Army Welfare
Education Society (AWES) has established 139 Army Public Schools and 249 Army
Pre Primary Schools nationwide. Additionally, AWES operates 12 professional
higher education institutions specializing in engineering, medical, dental,
management and law disciplines. AWES has been instrumental in providing
high-quality education at an affordable cost to the children of army personnel
across India.
The commemoration
began with a special assembly led by Class XII students. The event commenced
with a prayer and lighting of the lamp by the Principal, Mrs. Indrani Neogi and
distinguished guests Mrs. Aparna Sharma, Ms. S. Shree, and Ms. Mansi Bisht from
Walnut Publishers. Students showcased their talents through various presentations
including thoughts, news, talk, skit and dance performance. Class XII students
delivered a performance on the theme 'Importance of Education'. Students
actively participated in activities such as bookmark designing and coloring
competitions, aligning with the theme of Education, which is the core focus of
AWES.
During the event,
Aryaman Sharma, a dedicated Class X student and son of Late Col. Shikhar Sharma
and Mrs. Aparna Sharma, unveiled his book "Bright Allies and Dark
Axis", published by Walnut Publishers.
The Principal, Mrs.
Indrani Neogi commended the team for their efforts and encouraged everyone to
uphold AWES's vision and strive for excellence. The event concluded with the
school song and the national anthem.
