Student Participation in ECHS Sparsh Volunteering Programme

The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), launched on 01 April 2003, provides cashless allopathic and AYUSH medical care to ex-servicemen pensioners and their dependents through polyclinics, service medical facilities, government hospitals and empaneled private hospitals.

Under the ECHS Sparsh initiative, students of Classes IX-XI from Army Public School, NOIDA, participated in a volunteering programme to understand the scheme’s objectives and operations.

In November 2024, the students attended an orientation session at the ECHS clinic in NOIDA. They observed and assisted in clinical operations, including registration, the dispensary, laboratory, dental clinic and physiotherapy.

This programme provided practical exposure to healthcare operations, fulfilling part of their 25-hour service requirement under the initiative.
