The Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav 2024
was celebrated at Army Public School, NOIDA
from 4 to 11 December 2024, in honor of
the birth anniversary of Subramania Bharati,
a prominent poet, freedom fighter and social reformer. The festival aimed to
promote linguistic and cultural diversity through a series of activities across
the week.
The event commenced on 4th December with a presentation on Bharati's
life and works, inspiring students with his literary contributions. On 5th December, a Nature Walk encouraged students to express their thoughts
on nature in their native languages. 6th December
featured poetry, essay and memoir writing, while 7th December focused on Poster Making, highlighting India’s diversity through the
theme ‘Unity in Diversity’. The festival
continued with Cultural Overviews
of various Indian states on 9th December,
followed by activities on 10 December,
where students wrote and sang in different languages, sharing insights on local
animals and festivals.
The Cookbook Project
on 11 December allowed students to
write recipes in their native languages. The week culminated with a special
assembly on Subramania Bharati’s 143rd birth
anniversary, honoring his legacy.
The festival successfully provided a platform
for students to engage with and appreciate India’s rich linguistic and cultural
heritage.
