Oxford University Press (OUP) organises the
annual Oxford Big Read Global, a reading
and writing competition aimed at fostering reading and writing skills among
primary and secondary school students. The competition is conducted at two
levels—national and global—across three categories: Level I (Classes I-III), Level II
(Classes IV-VI) and Level III (Classes VII-IX).
Army
Public School, NOIDA registered students for the contest in July 2024, where participants were required to read OUP
Readers and engage in age-specific activities. The results, announced in December 2024, saw 470 schools and
over 6000 entries from across India. In
this competitive environment, Natalya
Moses of Class IV secured First Position in the Class IV-VI category
at the national level. As a result, she became a Global Finalist and will receive a Trophy and Certificate from
OUP.
Additionally, 100 students from
classes III-VI received free access to OUP's reading app, Oxford Reading Buddy. Natalya's achievement is
prominently featured on the AWES website here.
