Students from Army Public School, NOIDA
across classes 6 to 9, participated in Navyug,
a two-phase AI Hackathon organized by myAImate of the Army Institute of
Technology (AIT), Pune. The event aimed to foster creativity, innovation and
technical skills among Army Public School students. Phase 1, held on 23
December 2024 involved an online quiz assessing students' skills in Logical
Reasoning, Basic Programming and Cognitive Abilities. More than 50 schools
participated with 200 teams in round one, out of which 40 teams were selected
for the second phase. Out of 15 participants from APS NOIDA, three
students—Jari Abbas Rizvi (VIII B), Akshansh Tomar (IX B) and Bhavya Ghai (IX
A)—advanced to Phase 2.
In Phase 2, the selected students are working
on AI-based projects to address real-world challenges, under the guidance of
their teacher in charge, Ms. Meena Bisht, TGT Computer Science, and a mentor
from AIT Pune. They attended three online mentoring sessions on 28 December
2024, 31 December 2024 and 4 January 2025, focusing on block coding platforms
and project refinement. These sessions provided valuable experience in project
development and collaborative brainstorming.
The outcomes of the Navyug AI-Innovation
Hackathon will be presented to the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) on AIT
Day 2025, showcasing the accomplishments of the students and the participating
schools. This initiative emphasizes the importance of hands-on learning,
technological exposure and teamwork in the development of young students.
