On 11 February 2025, an educational excursion
was organized for students of Classes II and III to the National Rail Museum,
New Delhi. A total of 140 students, accompanied by seven teachers and two
support staff members, participated in the visit.
The day commenced with students assembling in
the school premises, where they received a briefing from the teachers before
boarding the school buses. The National Rail Museum spread over 11 acres,
showcases more than 166 years of India’s rich railway heritage.
During the visit, students explored the
Indoor Gallery, which featured an engaging display of historical developments
in Indian Railways, from its early inception to future innovations. They
observed an extensive collection of historical photographs and gained insights
into various railway engines, wheel structures and transportation systems.
Notable attractions included the World’s highest "Chenab Bridge,"
steam and electric locomotives, and other engineering marvels.
A key highlight of the visit was the Joy
Train ride, which captivated the students and added to their enthusiasm. The
excursion proved to be a highly enriching experience, providing students with
valuable knowledge and a deeper appreciation of India's railway history.
