In alignment with the Ministry of Education’s Mission
‘LiFE’ (Lifestyle for Environment), Army
Public School, Noida conducted a forward-thinking environmental
initiative on May 25 , 2025 titled ‘Curating QR Codes for Plant
Identification in School Campus’. The activity, conducted under
the aegis of the school’s Eco
Club, saw the participation of 16 students from Classes VII to IX, and
was guided by Ms Neelam
Anand.
The initiative aimed to integrate environmental
consciousness with digital literacy. Students conducted in-depth research on 26 plant species
within the campus, compiling scientific data including botanical names, uses,
ecological roles, and care techniques. QR codes were then digitally generated
and embedded with this data, printed on weather-resistant sheets, and affixed
to the respective plants for easy identification and public awareness.
This experiential learning activity not only enhanced
technological competence but also deepened ecological sensitivity among
participants. It stands as a model initiative reflecting the ethos of Mission
LiFE—promoting sustainable practices through innovation and student-driven
action.
