An event was organised by Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), a constituent unit of NCERT, at Parliament on 31 Oct 2025 to pay homage to Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on his 150th birth anniversary. A total of 32 students from all over India were selected by CIET based upon their participation in a quiz on ‘Know Your Leaders’ last year. Ms Anwesha Awasthi of Class X-A was the privileged participant in the event from APS Noida.

 All participants were asked to prepare a three-minute speech on any one of the three national leaders – Mahatma Gandhi, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. After three rounds of screening, 12 participants were shortlisted to deliver speech at the main event. Anwesha Awasthi delivered a flawless speech on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the Central Hall of the Samvidhan Sadan at Parliament.

On completion of all speeches, the Hon’ble speaker Shri Om Birla addressed the august gathering and remembered the great national leaders and their contributions in paving the foundation of modern India. He praised all participants for their enthusiasm and encouraged them to excel in their respective fields of choice.
